History

Since the late 17th century, the most curious minds sought ways to render watch movements impervious to water and moisture. It wasn't until the 20th century that craftsmen achieved this feat. However, one category of timepieces distinguished itself—dive watches commissioned by the Soviet Navy. In the 1950s and 1960s, these iconic watches became the steadfast companions of nearly every Navy diver. Even today, they remain among the largest watches globally, boasting a diameter of 60 mm (excluding the crown and lugs) and weighing approximately 250 grams. These watches are not only water- and shock-proof but also endured rigorous tests, including submersion to depths exceeding 100 meters. Although the production of dive watches ceased in the early 1970s, their legend lives on.
